FRAGILE BUBBLE
My work references my fragility during the lockdown. I present a protective porcelain structure simulating my support bubble, taking conceptual inspiration from Mexican Temazcal structures for healing. I relied heavily on social networks to connect with my family in Barcelona for many months and have included all my loved ones in this piece through virtual means.
Working with porcelain has offered the piece purity and material fragility. I experimented with combining slip, linen and fine wire to add strength to the raw clay. Working from home has given me the opportunity to create a site-specific installation and encouraged me to draw on my own resources when problem solving.
