MORLEY GALLERY
HANDS:CLAY
THE TRANSFORMATIVE NATURE OF CLAY
26TH JANUARY - 10TH FEBRUARY
Hands: Clay is a ceramics exhibition curated by Programme Managers Anna Silverton and Annette Welch at the newly refurbished Morley Gallery. 18 ceramicists, 36 hands, all demonstrating considerable expertise between them; from studio potters, designers, sculptors to conceptual artists who work with clay. Everyone included in this exhibition considers teaching to be an important part of their individual practice and they choose to share their knowledge generously here at Morley College Waterloo.
Practical courses were hit hard by lockdown, this showcase brings together dedicated and talented educators who have kept things going. We celebrate the longstanding reputation of Morley College’s ceramic tutors, technicians and leaders who continue to inspire adults on higher education and non-accredited ceramics courses alike. Arrangements to ‘meet the maker’ and/or to look at the Ceramics studios will be scheduled during the exhibition and will be outlined on the Morley Gallery website.
Exhibition runs from 26th January to 10th February, Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm, Saturday 1pm – 5pm at the Morley Gallery. 61 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7HT, website www.morleygallery.com - Instagram @morleygallery -email gallery@morleycollege.ac.uk
