A LIFE DRAWN
Jane Joseph Retrospective
1 - 30 March 2023
Jane Joseph, The Thames from Kew, Low Tide, October 2008
"In 1979, Tom Keating was in the Old Bailey for forging Samuel Palmers. From the forger’s studio I went to the window of my own studio looking onto the M40 motorway running parallel. In the familiarity of my surroundings, inside and out, I found the subject of place - in which a frequent feature is passage or flux."
Jane Joseph is a prominent printmaker, painter and long-standing tutor at Morley whose landscape prints are evocative of nature and movement in the London environment.
Joseph has exhibited regularly since 1973 and her work is included in collections including The National Art Library (V&A Museum), The British Library, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and Yale Center for British Art, Connecticut.
A retrospective on Joseph’s career and showcase of many of her finest artworks, A Life Drawn is a celebration of a life of art; teaching and supporting young artists as a treasured member of the Morley community.
