Rani D'Cruz: The Elements

“These pieces are inspired by the elements. When we look at nature, we rarely see uniform geometric patterns: the river winds; volcanic lava flows; the earth shifts; fire dances; lightning forks. Each finds its own path based on a logic inherent in nature itself – a system forever giving rise to asymmetries.”

Rani D’Cruz trained at the British Academy of Jewellery, City Lit and Morley College. She is an independent jewellery artist who designs and hand crafts individual pieces of jewellery. The inspiration for this collection is the natural world and the asymmetries we see in it. Rani wanted to create a collection that challenged the conventional uniformity of jewellery design whilst accepting the need for technical orthodoxy. In this way she has created pieces that have a character of ”uniqueness”.
