ARTIST STATEMENT

Following a career in engineering and commerce, I am metamorphosing into an Artist. The freedom to experiment that is encouraged by my tutors is wonderfully liberating after years of corporate constraint.

These images show parts of my journey to create a surface design for a seasonal punchbowl with the theme of “Winter Light”. I am drawn to geometric shapes and not-quite-repeating patterns (the same but different…) so focusing on snowflakes was a natural fit.

I work in a range of media, a sample of which can be seen in my Instagram account. I hope you find it interesting.
