During the COVID-19 lockdown in the spring of 2020, the Chelsea Centre turned into a pop-up factory making medical gowns for the Royal Brompton Hospital Trust. Manned by Morley staff and NHS volunteers, this effort produced more than 30,000 gowns certified for use on the NHS front line.

Photographer Joseph Newman took a series of images of the factory while it was in operation, one of which was selected by the National Portrait Gallery for its Hold Still digital exhibition of a hundred photographs on the themes of Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal, and Acts of Kindness. Joseph's picture was selected by a panel chaired by Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge from more than 31,000 entries and later chosen as one of the Director's Choice top twenty images.

To commemorate Morley's participation in the national effort to sustain and supply the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic, an exhibition of Joseph's photographs will be opened in the Chelsea Centre Gallery at the start of November, as well as presented online.
