Claudette Forbes

My work draws on my experience growing up and living in inner city Bristol and latterly London. I often explore the complex issues surrounding urban areas, their communities, their dereliction and attempts to improve them. I am also fascinated by the tensions and contradictions in our every day lives. Sometimes I like to inject these observations into my work, sometimes not. Similarly, I often use humour in my work. I create soundscapes to accompany my ceramic installations. I find that these inspire and enhance my conceptual development and my making.
