ONE YEAR ON: MORLEY IN LOCKDOWN
Confusion. Loss. Acceptance. Hope.
These feelings and many more are described beautifully in the works presented in this online exhibition marking the anniversary of the first Covid-19 lockdown in England.
The diversity and quality of the works shown is testament to the resilience and creativity of the students and staff at Morley College London.
We take this moment to mark the passing of a most unexpected twelve months. We remember those lost and those who have suffered loss. We pay tribute to those who have worked hard to maintain a sense of normality in extraordinary times. And together, we look forward to a brighter future.

An exhibition reflecting on our experiences of 2020 and 2021 can only ever be a partial snapshot of a few scatted memories and moments, but the huge response this call for submissions produced demonstrates just how keenly the Morley community has felt the lockdown and pandemic, and how important artistic pursuits have been in responding to these extraordinary circumstances and maintaining health and wellbeing. As a way of recognising this diversity of coping, we present a selected gallery of other entries below as a textured experience of Morley art.
