Tea Cups: Deconstructed
Ceramics at Morley
For this project students were asked to make a tea cup, which challenges the conventional notion of the tea cup/saucer form. They were encouraged to approach the theme in a playful and spontaneous way using an eclectic store of references, for example folk art, surrealism and cubism for inspiration. The forms could be sliced, squashed, stretched or flattened and the surfaces could be decorated and daubed with slips, glazes and on-glaze layers.
