Morley has well-equipped and organised workshop including a range of pottery wheels. Students have access to a wide variety of clays, glazes and ceramic materials with samples on display.
Our state-of-the-art studio hosts the latest Adobe Creative Cloud industry standard software. The studio is fitted with 16 wide-screen iMacs, a large clear interactive projector, Apple Airplay, colour laser printing and scanning facilities.
Photography and Film classes are taught in our professional studio: a flexible working space designed for studio photography, postproduction and printing. It is equipped with Elinchrom lighting and 16 MacBook Pro laptops with retina display. A separate area allows for high-end photographic printing.
Fashion Design and Clothes Making Studios
The Fashion studios are well equipped with industrial irons ,tailor's and dressmakers dummies, domestic sewing machines and industrial overlockers. This enables us to deliver courses covering a range of skills, techniques and fabric types including stretch fabrics, bridal and couture techniques, lingerie, tailoring and leather accessories/bag making courses.
Situated in a light spacious room the jewellery studio has 16 individual jewellers benches with their characteristic semi circle cut out. We have three flamefast hearths, two fume cupboards and an enamelling room with three kilns. The machine bench helps you to move your projects forward with two guillotines, a bandsaw, a linisher, a bonny doon press, two bench drills, a watchmakers lathe and a grinder. For finishing jewellery we have a double spindle polishing machine and two barrel polishers. We provide all of the essential hand tools needed to make jewellery. There are also basic materials available in reasonable quantities, such as base metals, paper, acrylics, enamel etc.
Our well equipped print studios combine traditional printmaking techniques with new digital technologies. Equipment includes three etching presses, an offset and direct lithography press and stones, two albion presses for relief printing and facilities for photo etching and photo lithography and laser cutting facilities.
The Henry Moore Sculpture Studio at Pelham Hall
Pelham Hall is a unique spacious Victorian chapel, fully refurbished and well equipped to provide a creative space for our sculpture courses including metalwork, clay life modelling (kiln fired), wood and stone carving, bronze casting and mould making.
The sculpture facilities are one of the best equipped for an adult learners provision especially for the metal working processes including top of the range mig, tig, spot and oxyacetylene welding, plasma cutter, forge and furnace for bronze casting.
