I took inspiration from my small garden, which is crammed full of large shrubs and clusters of textured greenery. The garden has been a real source of solace during this time and the lush, fresh foliage and greenery, the bursting forth of all the plants and the birds and insects that dart amongst them all, have been calming and fascinating at the same time- while the rest of the world has felt still almost stalled. For these images I went deep into the plants so that I was enclosed by them. I wanted to capture a sense of protectiveness, shelter and also the density, movement, light, layers and spaces in between.
